China's Rise, U.S Decline?

  • Some say China's rise is a threat to the international system, because once they attain more power China will want to transform global order to suit their needs.
  • On the other hand, others argue that China has followed a "peaceful rise" strategy, and because they have recently joined international institutions and rely on economic interdependence, they are not a threat to the current system.
